Inner city kids travel to South Africa
CNN's Soledad O'Brien has followed 30 youngsters, ages 11 to 16, since August,
since she traveled with them from Bushwick, Brooklyn, to Johannesburg, South
Africa on a volunteer mission to serve the impoverished and AIDS orphans. Half of
the children under age 18 still live below the poverty line. the ninth grade and more
than half adults never graduate from high school in South Africa.Forexample,Jeremy
Baker,15, was one of the youngmen on the journey.Even he's really poor,who was a
leader in South Africa, dreams basketball will lead to his success.

Hard economic times a boon for libraries
In times of recession,many people going to the library for free sevices,such as look
up job openungs and use the Internet . Whenever you have tough economic times,
public libraries are a place people go because they have no other alternatives or
because they know they are going to get the kind of powerful information that will
make a difference in their lives.Also,use public libraries are able to help many people
in this hard economic.

Slain reporter's father fearful of anti-Semitism on campus
Judea Pearl, whose son, Daniel Pearl, was kidnapped and killed by al Qaeda
extremists while on assignment in Pakistan in 2002, told reporters at
a newsconference that anti- Semitic e-mail and verbal threats have escalated since
Israel's three-week invasion of Gaza in January.Judea Pearl received hate messages
from someone at UCLA who did not identify himself .It was concern I saw you in
Ackerman Union and I know where your office is and I'm going to beat the (expletive)
out of you ,from someone who gave hate messages to Judea Pearl.
